I wrote the song "Blind Eye" around December 2020. It was also around this time I was finishing writing the other songs except for "What Am I To You?" Which was wrote back in 2017 for Fossilz but the band finished before it was brought in. The original plan was to release the songs that feature here as singles over the first few months of 2021, However that plan quickly changed when I listened to the rough demos in the track list order of this EP.

After I heard them in that order I couldn't convince myself to release each one as their own, they felt better together. The political and emotional themes over the lyrics and the grungier sound throughout just fit perfect for me, I even considered dropping "The Breeze" and using that for a single but the dark instrumental felt like a calm yet still raw closing track for the EP. So the Blind Eye EP wasn't a plan but how it came together felt natural for me and the heavier sound compared to my other solo material felt like a nice acknowledgement of the music I used to write with Fossilz.
